I wanted to take what I learned from my first little mushroom lamp and build on it using the same Adafruit NeoPixels I used in the baby book. I was inspired when my friend, Becca, told me that her middle school class was very into mushrooms this year.

Light-up Baby Book

This baby book houses an ESP32, 24 NeoPixels, and some light-dependent resistors to make for a fun light-up addition to a children’s story!

This little nightlight looks like a small grove of mushrooms growing out of a log – during the day, it looks like an unassuming little craft project, but at night, the mushrooms glow and breathe and the hearth of a tiny cabin flickers.
